Cosmographiae Introductio - Cosmographiae Introductio (Strasbourg, 1507) was a book published in 1507 to accompany Martin Waldseemüller's map of the world and wall-map (Universalis Cosmographia), which was the first appearance of the name 'America'. Waldseemüller’s map and book, along with his 1513 edition of Ptolemy’s Geography, were very influential and widely copied at the time.
